Vibl Case Study
Vibl is a biodegradable smart business card that is enriched with NFC tenchnologies empowering you to share pretty much any information you choose with your network.
We have been working on vibl since April 2021.
the issue
Me and my friends have been working in the software development field for some time now. We have used a bunch of paper business cards and we were aware it was not a sustainable solution at all. Every time you get promoted or change your title, you need to have new business cards printed. It’s harmful for your budget and your planet 🌎. Also traditional business cards are quite limited in terms of the information you can put on a physical card.

the hypothesis
So we decided to create a product where you can put as many information as you want on your business card in an eco-friendly way. We thought it could be useful for people who have similar concerns to ours. Yet, these were just assumptions that we had and we needed to validate them in order to create a product that people really need.
the validation
To find out if there are people who have similar concerns or perceptions as us, I prepared a series of questions and conducted interviews with people who use paper business cards. The aim was to understand what their expectations of a business card are and what kind of difficulties they face when using one.

the problem with paper cards
Users need to print new business cards everytime they get a promotion or a title change.
Paper cards are so limited, users can’t add any other services that they provide on a paper card.
The amount of time and money that is required to create a professional-looking business card takes too long.
Paper cards are damaging to earth.
what users actually want
Reducing the amount of the money they spend every year on business cards.
Measuring the ROI that they make from business cards.
Promoting the products / services that they produce.
An Eco-friendly solution.
the user personas
As a result of these interviews I was able to identify the problems people have with using paper business cards, as well as their motivations and expectations when using business cards.
According to these results, there were 3 personas who wanted a better solution for paper business cards.
